With rain came someone special

This story is about a little boy Steve. Steve was introvert by nature. He did not had any close friend. He never tried to make one. Although there were many children in the building, where he was living, then also he never had a talk with them. It was not that he did not wanted to make friends. He do wanted to have friends with whom he can share and enjoy life. Every evening from the window of the kitchen, he see children playing and laughing. One day Steve asked his mother, “Mummy, Why can’t I laugh and enjoy like them?” His mother replied, “ Why are you saying like this Stevie? You can also enjoy like them. You are no different. Go talk to them and have friendship with them.” Steve got his answer. He decided to make new friends. But he thought he can’t make friends. It seemed impossible for him. One day he went outside in the evening and asked the boys playing in front of his building, “I’m Steve. Can I play with you?” A boy from the group came to Steve and said, “You want to play with us. You look so idiot. You are fat. I guess indoor games are meant for people like you. We don’t need you and no one else over here would like you to play with him. Better go home and play with your mom you bunny!” That made a profound impact in the mind of little Steve. Steve did not told his mother about the incident. No one came to wipe his tears and tell him that things will get alright.

One day Steve was watching a movie in the living room to pass his free time. That movie was about a boy like Steve and a dog. The bond between a boy and a dog impressed Steve very much. Now, Steve wanted to have a dog because he knew dog won’t insult him and will be his friend forever. After watching movie Steve went to kitchen and told his mother, “Mummy, I want to buy a dog. Come let’s go to the market.” His mother replied, “Steve I can’t buy a dog for you now. But I can promise you that I will buy you a dog someday.”

Steve was very happy because of the fact that he soon will have a friend after all. He wanted dog so badly that he made pillow his imaginary dog. He played with pillow all the time. He was obsessed with thoughts of the dog. He was sure that he will get the dog because his mother promised him. Steve did not knew when that someday will come. So after waking up he prepared himself everday thinking that today might be a big day.

One morning it was raining heavily. Steve love rain very much. After having breakfast Steve decided to go outside. As he opened the door he got surprised after seeing what was in front of him. In the park of his building was sitting a small dog with glowing eyes and making expressions as if waiting to be accepted. Steve bought that dog inside. Steve’s dream came true. He got his friend. He said “Thank you!” to his mother. Mother came from the kitchen and asked “For what Stevie? From where have you got this dog?” Steve replied, “You bought this dog for me. Ain’t you?” Mother said, “No dear, I did not bought this dog.”

From where that dog came? How this happened? Why this happened? Steve did not knew answers to these questions; but after all this he came to know that someone was always there who was listening to him.

In the best-selling novel 'The Alchemist' by Paulo Coehlo, it has been stated that "When you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it."
